Safety checklist

Employers are encouraged to develop an effective safety and health program to ensure compliance with the OSHA standards. This comprehensive safety program must be periodically reviewed and updated. An employer should designate responsible individuals to conduct reviews of its safety program so that it can be updated and, whenever necessary, revised so that it accurately reflects a company’s safety goals.

The following basic safety checklist can help an employer determine what steps need to be taken in order to bring its facilities into compliance with general health and safety practices as well as the OSHA standards.

Self inspection checklists

These checklists are by no means all-inclusive. You should add to them or delete items that do not apply to your business; however, carefully consider each item and then make your decision. You should refer to OSHA standards for specific guidance that may apply to your work situation.

Note:
These checklists are typical for general industry but not for construction or maritime industries.
