Today’s marketplace holds few constants. But there is one certainty: every company, no matter the size, possesses only one true advantage over its competition and that is its people.

On any given day, the operations, manufacturing processes, products and distribution methods, even well laid marketing campaigns can be copied with relative ease.

But no amount of imitation can duplicate the workforce. How this unique resource is managed will determine the success or failure of an organization.

Therefore, in order for a company to achieve a competitive advantage it must hire the right people. Once hired, an employer needs to create an environment in which those new hires will be successful. This is not easy. It requires effective management practices, which must also be in compliance with the laws of the United States and applicable state law.
