IA Trending Accessibility and Reasonable Accommodation Issues for Businesses Under the Americans With Disabilities Act

Presented by Steve Helland and Anne Radolinski at Frederikson & Byron, P.A.

Description

Join us as Fredrikson & Byron employment and technology lawyers and the co-founders of Accessible360, an accessibility consulting team, discuss accessibility and reasonable accommodation issues for businesses under the federal Americans with Disabilities Act and state law, and practical strategies to prepare for such advances and trends.

The session will include a discussion of legal and business challenges from outside litigants and employees regarding “accessibility” of websites, apps, portals and devices for alleged discrimination against individuals with sight and audio disabilities. We will also cover additional trending areas for business and employers, including legal challenges by applicants and employees related to pre-employment eligibility requirements, extended leave due to medical and mental health issues, performance deficiencies related to medical and mental health issues, pregnancy accommodation, service animals and more. Accessible360 will demonstrate screen reader technology in-practice and describe real-life workplace tech-accessibility issues for disabled applicants and employees.

Note: Applications for HRCI, SHRM and CLE credits have been submitted for this program.
