About

Conley J. Scott III, Esq., LL.M.T., is an associate attorney with Ogletree Deakins’ Atlanta, office. His focus is ERISA compliance and works on all types of qualified retirement plans and related issues. He is barred in the State of Georgia and admitted to practice in the Georgia Supreme Court as well as the United States Tax Court.

Conley has a wide breadth of education and will receive his Master of Divinity in 2023. Conley received his law degree from Mercer University School of Law and his Master of Taxation (LLM) from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While at Mercer, Conley was able to receive the 2019 Georgia Tax Award, which is given to a graduating law student who has shown dedication to tax law and who has obtained high marks in tax courses. Conley is also an Oxford Scholar. Conley also received a certificate in Advanced Legal Writing and Research. He earned the highest grade in his Advanced Legal Writing and Advanced Legal Research courses. Conley also held various leadership roles with the Christian Legal Society, Black Law Student Association, and Older Wiser Law Students while at Mercer. Conley believes in learning about different people through emersion.

Conley also has a diverse work history ranging from working in a debt collection law to working in the Macon-Bibb Solicitor General’s office. Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Conley worked with H&R Block for three tax seasons. He was able to advance within H&R Block to achieve the title of Senior Tax Research Analyst. Conley handled a wide array of tax-related questions but found retirement questions most enjoyable. He has answered retirement questions dealing with rollovers, compensation, contributions, and distributions concerning various retirement plans. Conley is eager to help our clients with all their retirement needs.

In his spare time, Conley enjoys helping with Church matters and community outreach, spending time with friends and family, watching just about anything anime, seeing the world, and having a good time.
