Steve Parascandola has practiced with Smith Anderson since June 1996 and leads the firm’s OSHA and Workplace Safety practice group. His practice focuses on enforcement defense and providing regulatory compliance counseling to clients in a variety of industries, both public and private, and identifying and managing workplace safety issues in mergers and acquisitions. He represents clients in state and federal OSHA enforcement actions throughout North Carolina and other jurisdictions.
His experience includes defending employers against OSHA citations, employee complaints, “whistleblower” actions, and retaliation claims; counseling clients on regulatory compliance, record-keeping and reporting obligations, HazCom and PSM requirements, and inspection, audit and training issues; advising clients on industry-specific standards, rules and guidance relating to construction, healthcare, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and general industry; and helping clients navigate ever-changing OSHA and CDC Covid guidance, as well as OSHA’s Emergency Temporary Standard.
Steve is a frequent speaker and author on OSHA and Workplace Safety law issues and also participates in client training and audit exercises.
