Enforcement of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) began July 1, 2020. Our privacy team at Troutman Pepper has identified six areas of enforcement likely to catch the California Office of the Attorney General’s (OAG) attention, which arguably holds sole enforcement authority under the Act.

This webinar will focus on those six areas of enforcement, namely (1) where is your “Do-Not-Sell” Button, (2) you appear to have treated CCPA like a check-the-box exercise, (3) no visible compliance, are you a business or service provider, (4) you collect children’s Personal Information and health related data, (5) where is your notice at collection or is it adequate and (6) OAG’s reaction to the CPRA Referendum.

Building on the experience of advising clients on the CCPA since its passage, our privacy compliance team will then discuss concrete strategies to develop a risk-based compliance program designed to minimize enforcement risk and bolster compliance efforts.
