ME Still 600 new laws – which ones matter to you?

Hosted by Maine State Chamber of Commerce

The Legislature Just Enacted 600 New laws, do You Know Which Ones Matter to you?

We Do, and We Can Help

The 129th Legislature ended their work for this year on June 20, 2019.  During the five and a half months they meet, they considered nearly 2000 bills that covered a vast array of public policy topics.  Before they were finished in the early morning hours on June 20th, they had enacted roughly 600 new laws.

Many of these new laws will go into effect on September 20, 2019 – 90 days after adjournment.  Are you prepared? Do you even know which laws you should know about, and what actions your workplace should – or shouldn’t take to prevent a problem for your company?

Join us on Tuesday September 10, 2019 in Portland, or Wednesday, September 11 in Bangor, for a half day program on enacted legislation and what it means for your company.  We will convene three panels to look at pertinent bills in the policy areas of the workplace/HR, environment and energy.  Our panel of experts will cover topics that include changes in workers compensation law, the new “paid time off” law, energy policy, bans on plastic bags and Styrofoam, and a variety of other new laws.

BANGOR: Wednesday, September 11: Husson University, Richard E. Dyke Center for Family Business, 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Registration | 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Program
