Other types of leave — Maryland

Employees in Maryland are entitled to certain time off under federal and state laws. Leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Maryland Healthy Working Families Act, the Maryland Flexible Leave Act (MFLA), the Parental Leave Act, the Deployment Leave Act, and the Organ and Bone Marrow Donation Act, as well as the forthcoming Time to Care Act, is discussed in detail in Chapter 17: Family and medical leave. Military leave and civil air patrol leave rights are covered in Chapter 18: Military leave. In addition, leave under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), as well as leave in the context of accommodations for pregnancy-related disabilities, is discussed in Chapter 13: Disabilities and reasonable accommodations.
